Our Founder

William Middlebrooks is responsible for guiding the overall global activities of several companies in which he has a vested interest. These companies impact the real estate, entertainment, athletic and educational industries. An alumnus of Denison University, Mr. Middlebrooks has orchestrated more than $800 million dollars in business transactions over the course of his business career, as an entrepreneur and corporate senior management. While Mr. Middlebrooks has founded the majority of his holdings, he does have acquisitions experience, having consummated the deals which brought Grace Records, N*Soul Records, JATSA, Modiera West Communications and Touch Glove into his portfolio over the years.

William Middlebrooks began his career as a young musician playing for various seasoned Motown artists and serving as a studio engineer under the tutelage of the infamous Carlos Gunn at Motown super-writer Sylvia Moy’s Masterpiece Sound Studios in Detroit, MI. Middlebrooks then scored an opportunity to learn the business side of the music industry by interning and later working for CBS/Epic Records in various capacities within its promotions, sales and distribution units.

At only 22, Middlebrooks was tapped by industry veteran Tom McGee to assume the position of Senior Vice-President of Promotions for Grace Records and was eventually named General Manager of the label. Grace Records was distributed by Tyscot Records/SPECTRA. Grace Records served as home for the solo effort of gospel legend Twinkie Clark-Terrell of the Clark Sisters as well as launched the professional music careers of Paul Allen and Jimmy Moss p/k/a/ J. Moss now known as PAJAM Music (Destiny’s Child, N’SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Aaliyah and the list goes on). Middlebrooks later became a co-owner of the company.

The general business talents of William Middlebrooks were then spotted by Cortland Ray, President of Cal Eagle Insurance. With no previous insurance background, Mr. Middlebrooks was brought to Cal Eagle to be a part of a team that ultimately orchestrated a $7 million turnaround of a company that was $3 million in the red to $4 million in the black, in only 2 years.

Next, Middlebrooks launched his own company, Reality Entertainment Group (“REG”), which would span the next 10 years of his career. Starting off as a management company and later expanding into a mini entertainment conglomerate, REG would go on to be involved with more than 100 million records sales through its management, consulting, music production and record label divisions. REG and its clients worked with the likes of Brandy, Jody Watley, Chaka Khan, Ray-J, L.L. Cool J, 8 Ball & MJG, Mobb Deep, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige and the list goes on.

In late 2003, Middlebrooks went into semi-retirement to focus on his family and community in Pasadena, CA. There he launched an athletic booster club at Pasadena High School, served as a basketball coach, mentor, tutor, community activist, and political change agent. In addition, Mr. Middlebrooks was elected as Secretary and later 2nd Vice-President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (the oldest and most influential Christian organization in Pasadena), Treasure of the Clergy Community Coalition and President of the Pasadena Bulldogs Booster Club. As Pastor of The People’s Place, International, Middlebrooks led 2 congregations (Los Angeles, CA and Pasadena, CA). He also hosted two different talk radio shows, “The William Middlebrooks Show” and “On The Air With Solutions That Win,” both on NewsTalk 1380AM – KOSS, sandwiched between Dennis Miller and Sean Hannity.

In 2011, Middlebrooks returned to school to finish the collegiate studies he put down in order to pursue the music business. Graduating in 2013 with Summa Cum Laude honors, he earned a B.A. in Sports & Recreation Management with A’s in 37 classes. Middlebrooks is a member of 3 national honors societies for his academic performance (Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, Golden Key International Honour Society and Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society), was named to the Dean’s List 9 different semesters and holds numerous professional certifications. In 2020 he was awarded his first honorary doctorate degree.

In early 2012, Middlebrooks encountered several individuals that convinced him to return to the business world. Re-emerging as The William Middlebrooks Company, Dr. Middlebrooks has established new companies, orchestrated deals and repositioned himself as one of the premier business minds of the 21st century.
